. Not only has Ice Cube’s Big3 League been a lot of fun to watch, but there’s a very real possibility that one of its standout players receives another shot at the NBA level. In a 50-40 victory for his Killer 3s over the Ball Hogs at American Airlines Center on Sunday, Stephen Jackson scored a game-high 23 points, and made quite the proclamation to reporters after the game. "I've been working to go back to the NBA, so this (league) is a blessing for me,"  Jackson said via Tom Orsborn of MySanAntonio.com . "I want to play basketball as long as I can. I feel like there are guys in the NBA who can't guard me.” "He's the most dominating player in the league,"  said Jackson's teammate, former Detroit Pistons star Chauncey Billups . "Nobody can guard him.” Jackson spent 14 years in the NBA and despite the fact that he’s been out of the league since the 2013-2014 campaign, he hasn’t seemed to lose a step. Wenger gives update on Lacazette’s injury

Image
Alexandre Lacazette did not suffer an injury in Arsenal’s Emirates Cup defeat to Sevilla on Sunday, Arsene Wenger has confirmed. The Gunners’ club-record signing Lacazette scored his first goal at Emirates Stadium, converting Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain cross to cancel out Joaquin Correa’s opener. Steven N’Zonzi then hit a brilliant strike to give Sevilla a 2-1 victory on Sunday. Lacazette was replaced by Alex Iwobi with 12 minutes to play and appeared to be limping as he walked off the pitch, but Wenger played down fears over the France international’s fitness. “Lacazette was okay,” Wenger told reporters. “I took him off but not because he was injured. He was one of the few players who had a positive game today. “It was an encouraging performance from Lacazette. He suffered a bit from the fact when we were a bit flat. “When he was involved he was intelligent, he protected the ball well and he got his goal – overall, it was an encouraging performance. “Week after week, Lacazette looks to a...

Arsene Wenger's side put on an attacking masterclass against Portuguese giants Benfica, winning 5-2 in what was a very entertaining fixture. Theo Walcott scored a brace and Alex Iwobi also managed to get himself on the scoresheet to put the Gunners in the perfect position to seal the trophy. On Sunday afternoon, Arsenal took on Sevilla and the main highlight before the game was that the home crowd would get a first glimpse of their new big-money striker, Alexandre Lacazette. The Spanish club took the lead early in the second-half through Argentine midfielder Joaquin Correa but a short while later, the Frenchman was heavily involved in ...

Manchester United fans react to Romelu Lukaku’s first touch v Valerenga

Image
It took Romelu Lukaku just two minutes to find the back of the net against Valerenga this evening. The Belgian striker was sent on by Jose Mourinho at half-time, coming on for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and scored his third goal for Manchester United with a header. Lukaku’s goal made it 2-0 to United after Marouane Fellaini, strongly linked with a move to Galatasaray this weekend, broke the deadlock shortly before half-time. It’s been an encouraging start to life as a United player for Lukaku, who completed his £75 million transfer from Everton earlier this month. As well as scoring against Valerenga this evening, the 24-year-old also netted against Real Salt Lake and Manchester City on United’s pre-season tour of the USA. Lukaku will be acutely aware that bigger tests are just around the corner - starting next week against Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup - but he’ll also be pleased with how quickly he’s settling in with the Red Devils. Some people seem desperate for Lukaku to fail Because ...

Nemanja Matic was pictured in a United training kit after he underwent a medical at the club on Sunday. It now shows his move to Old Trafford is all but sealed. Nemanja Matic has all but moved to Manchester United and is expected to be announced within the next few hours after a picture emerged of the Serbia international in the club's training gear. The Chelsea midfielder underwent a medical on Sunday afternoon and could be unveiled as early as Sunday evening after Chelsea agreed to allow the 28-year-old to join their Premier League rivals for £40million. The Blues had initially baulked at the idea of their player joining Premier League rivals, preferring him to make a move to Serie A side Juventus. However, with the Italians unable to meet the financial package on offer at Old Trafford and with the player intent on leaving Stamford Bridge, it appears that the deal is close to completion. And the move looked to be in its final stages on Sunday as one picture appeared, purportedly ...
